The Mission and History of Resource Systems

Our Mission: "Caring for People Through Innovative Solutions"

Resource Systems was founded in 1980 by Greg Adams and Larry Triplett after graduating from Muskingum College.

In its early years the company provided data processing services. Through specialized contracts with several nursing homes, Resource Systems began to see the need for automation in long-term care settings.

In 1987, the company developed the first system to use bar coding in long-term care to control ancillary charges and stockroom supplies. This system, called the Resource Bar Code System, became the premier system of its kind throughout the nation in the 1990's.

In the late 90's, many facilities were struggling to collect data accurately and completely for the MDS. After several years of development the CareTracker system was released to help facilities track ADLs, Mood/Behavior, and other key MDS items.

Over time, CareTracker developed into the leading data collection system in long-term care. It helps facilities document all types of care, report and analyze information, be alerted of critical conditions, and share its information with other electronic systems.

On the heels of success in long-term care settings, Resource Systems added additional products and expanded into new markets. With modifications focused on customizability and person-centered care, CareTracker began helping providers care for people with developmental disabilities.

Today, Resource Systems employs more than 80 people and provides services for more than 3,500 facilities and providers nationwide.
