For a 'real time' approach many facilities keep the portable PDA device at the satellite supply closets.

When a supply is used, the staff member identifies the resident and scans the bar code of the item being dispensed. No stickers are needed.

Touch Screens

Charges can be recorded on any of the CareTracker kiosks. CareTracker can be set up to prompt the caregiver for the supplies used at the point of recording other care related tasks so supplies are not missed or forgotten.

Batch Method

For those facilities preferring the sticker approach, bar coded stickers can be printed by ChargeTracker. As the item is used, the sticker is peeled and applied to the charge card, which is later scanned by the portable PDA.
